BUSHBUCKRIDGE- A 16 year-old girl was arrested in Culcatta on Thursday in connection with the murder of her two week old baby.
According to police reports, the baby’s grandmother was asleep when she woke up to discover that the baby was missing. This was in the early hours of Thursday, 2 June. She then searched for the baby but couldn’t find her. She also asked the baby’s mother about the child’s whereabouts but she allegedly refused to speak.

The grandmother reported the matter to the police and upon arrival, the mother was questioned and she admitted to stuffing the baby in a a schoolbag.
“She also led police to the room where she hid the bag and was then arrested. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon,” reads a statement from the police.
